Study: all 21 tested cars sent data to third parties

Researchers from Northeastern University and Consumer Reports tested 21 vehicles from 19 brands plus 30 companion apps: every car transmitted data to at least one third-party domain, and over half pinged advertising and analytics companies. Seven apps, including HondaLink and myChevrolet, sent VINs, phone numbers and precise locations to ad networks.
