Google rolls out Health Guardian to Pixel Watch: blood pressure, insulin resistance, emergency detection

Google has started deploying Health Guardian in the Google Health (Fitbit) app for Pixel Watch 3, 4 and 5. The suite passively estimates blood pressure trends, insulin resistance shifts and sleep breathing quality, while Pixel Watch 4 and 5 in the EU add CE-marked Breathing Emergency Detection with automatic emergency dispatch.

• Health Guardian is free on Pixel Watch 3, 4 and 5; Fitbit Air gets select tools later
• Requires Google Health (Fitbit) 5.09.health-mobile; first monthly reports arrive in early October 2026
• Blood pressure needs 5 days of wear per week, insulin resistance 7 full days per month
• Breathing Emergency Detection is EU-only on Pixel Watch 4 and 5, not FDA cleared
