AirPods 5 review: Apple's best open-fit earbuds held back by battery life

Apple launched the AirPods 5 in September 2026: the £139/$149 Wireless Charging Case model adds an on-stem volume slider, improved Adaptive EQ and ANC, IP57 water resistance and slightly longer battery life. The main drawback is battery life, which still lags behind 2026 expectations.
