Diablo 5 is Blizzard's darkest ARPG yet, and that's the best way to honor the game that changed my life 30 years ago

Blizzard unexpectedly announced Diablo 5 at BlizzCon 2026 with a 2029 release, six years after Diablo 4. According to senior game director Joe Shely, the action will unfold in a world where Sanctuary is destroyed and Diablo has won: there are no safe zones or cities left.
