US and China agree to cut tariffs on $30B of goods and set up AI dialogue channel

The 8th round of US-China trade talks in New York and Washington produced 10 agreements, including mutual tariff cuts on about $30 billion of goods from each side, with roughly 90% of those items moving to most-favored-nation rates. The two countries also created their first official AI dialogue channel, led by Vice Premier He Lifeng and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, with the first round already held and the next due by late November.
