Sense8 co-founder says he lost $1B in Nvidia stock options
Eric Gullichsen, invited to Nvidia's technical advisory board in 1993, was granted 25,000 stock options vesting over one year. In 1996 Nvidia's CFO counted only 15,625 options on a four-year schedule and gave him 90 days to exercise. After six stock splits, the missing 9,375 options are worth roughly $1 billion by his math, though Nvidia calls the claim time-barred.
- Nvidia granted Gullichsen 25,000 options at $0.05 in September 1993
- In April 1996 the CFO counted 15,625 options on a four-year schedule
- Nvidia's six stock splits give a cumulative 480-to-one ratio
- The missing 9,375 options equal about 4.5 million shares, near $1B
