Leipzig's hydrogen garbage trucks available only 45.6% of the time

Leipzig bought 16 FAUN BluePower hydrogen refuse trucks in 2024, about a third of its collection fleet. Two years later the city reported an average deployment rate of just 45.6%, versus roughly 80% for conventional trucks, with faults and repairs forcing diesel replacements to cover routes.
