UK RAF launches new space squadron to defend satellites

The Royal Air Force has established No. III Space Effects Squadron, the UK's first unit dedicated to disrupting and denying threats to British satellites. The government has allocated £880m for space surveillance and control from 2026/27 to 2029/30, with £7.8bn committed to space defence by 2030.
