Claude breaks eight-loop record in particle physics

Anthropic said its Claude AI computed the nine-loop, six-particle scattering amplitude in planar N=4 super-Yang-Mills theory, surpassing the previous eight-loop record set in 2023. Two Anthropic physicists directed the Fable 5.1 model in Claude Science at a cost of $1,000–$2,000 per route, and SLAC's Lance Dixon independently validated the result.
