San Diego jury orders Apple to pay $5.7B in haptics patent case

A federal jury in San Diego found Apple infringed two Taction Technology haptics patents and awarded the company more than $5.7 billion in damages. Taction sued Apple in 2021 over its Taptic Engine used in iPhones and Apple Watches; Apple said it does not use Taction's technology and vowed to appeal.
