Thousands of banks can now sue over Apple Pay fees in one antitrust case
A federal judge certified a class action on September 23 allowing thousands of U.S. banks and credit unions to jointly pursue antitrust claims against Apple over Apple Pay fees. The issuers allege Apple blocked rival tap-to-pay wallets on iPhone and charged 0.15% of credit card purchases plus half a cent per debit transaction. The ruling does not decide whether Apple violated antitrust law.
