Tiny cell “antennas” may help explain why some babies are born with heart defects

Researchers at the University of Copenhagen discovered a signaling hub of proteins TAK1, TAB2, and PKA-Cα in the primary cilium that influences heart formation in embryos. Mutations in these proteins disrupt heart development, potentially explaining some congenital defects that affect 2.3–2.5 million newborns annually.

Satellite operators detail pivots to multi-domain strategies with defense and AI

At World Space Business Week in Paris, operators Space42, Telesat, Eutelsat, SpaceX and Viasat described a shift from selling capacity to multi-domain strategies with defense and AI. Telesat won a nearly $2B Canadian contract, Eutelsat ordered 229 OneWeb and 264 IRIS² satellites, and Viasat and Space42 formed Equatys with up to $1B.
