Automattic has a new board after failed attempt to oust CEO

Matt Mullenweg has rebuilt Automattic's board weeks after the previous directors tried and failed to place him on leave. The new board includes "Silo" author Hugh Howey and two co-founders of the defunct social app IRL, Henry Khatachryan and Krutal Desai.

• The previous board voted to put Mullenweg on leave, but he retook control in 33 hours and 20 minutes
• Mullenweg controls 84% of Automattic's voting shares, letting him replace the board
• Board members Toni Schneider and Sue Decker resigned, Gen. Ann Dunwoody was removed
• CFO Mark Davies and legal chief Andy Missan were also let go, and litigation counsel was replaced
