Europe's first commercial lunar rover LUVMI-M to fly in 2029 on Blue Origin's Blue Moon

Belgium's Space Applications Services confirmed its LUVMI-M rover will reach the Moon's south pole aboard Blue Origin's Blue Moon Mark 1 lander in early 2029. The mission was previously planned for 2028 with Intuitive Machines; the switch followed the May 2026 New Glenn explosion.

• LUVMI-M weighs 20–30 kg and carries an equal mass in payloads
• The baseline mission lasts 10–14 Earth days near the south pole
• The rover moves at 5 cm/s and handles slopes up to 15 degrees
• Blue Moon Mark 1 can deliver up to 3,000 kg to the lunar surface
