Nuclear submarine HMS Agamemnon leaves UK shipyard for first sea trials

HMS Agamemnon, the Royal Navy's newest nuclear-powered attack submarine, has left BAE Systems' Barrow-in-Furness shipyard for HM Naval Base Clyde in Scotland for trials and crew training. Keel laid in July 2013 and commissioned in September 2025, she is the sixth of seven planned Astute-class boats.
