DLSS 5 pushes RTX 5090 to 647W as 16-pin connector runs hotter than the GPU die
QuasarZone tests in Cyberpunk 2077 show the RTX 5090 Founders Edition peaking at 658W with DLSS 5 enabled, while the 16-pin 12VHPWR connector hit 91.7 °C — hotter than the GPU die itself. The RTX 5080 stayed within 350W under the same load.
