GM updates Silverado and Sierra pickups with new 5.7L and 6.6L V8s

GM has upgraded the 2027 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 with new naturally aspirated 5.7L and 6.6L V8s, replacing the 5.3L and 6.2L units. They produce 402 hp and 481 hp, making them the most powerful NA pickups on the market. Pricing starts at $41,395 and $39,300.

• 5.7L V8 makes 402 hp and 580 Nm; 6.6L V8 makes 481 hp and 679 Nm
• Compression ratios rise to 12.0:1 and 12.5:1, with a new oil cooler
• Silverado 1500 tows up to 6,214 kg; Sierra 1500 up to 6,124 kg
