PhonePe to hire 20,000 sales staff and deploy 5 million payment devices

PhonePe announced it will expand its merchant network deeper into India's towns and villages, hiring over 20,000 on-roll frontline sales personnel in the next year and deploying more than 5 million payment devices, including SmartSpeakers and POS terminals. About 50% of the devices will go to rural India, reaching Tier 6 towns and villages.
