nbn trials solar sleeve to back up fixed wireless towers during outages

NBN Co is trialling flexible solar laminate wrapped around a 40-metre fixed wireless monopole at New Gisborne, Victoria. Combined with battery storage, the system is designed to keep sites running for up to 12 hours during outages and generates up to 40% of site power demand in daylight. The solution was developed by Melbourne-based Decon Corporation.
