Google Nears Release of Flagship Gemini 4 AI Model

Google DeepMind chief Koray Kavukcuoglu said Gemini 4 is in the post-training phase and could launch "much earlier" than the end of the year. It is his first public appearance as head of DeepMind, after Google fell behind Anthropic and OpenAI in the AI model race.
