Microsoft refreshes Surface Pro 12 and Laptop 13 with Snapdragon X2 Plus

Microsoft has updated its 12-inch Surface Pro and 13-inch Surface Laptop with Qualcomm's Snapdragon X2 Plus chips. The devices promise up to 18 percent better battery efficiency, 60 percent faster graphics and 95 percent faster local AI inference, but now start at $1,149.99 and $1,199.99 on October 13th.

• Surface Pro 12-inch now starts at $1,149.99, up from $799.99; Laptop 13-inch at $1,199.99, up from $899.99
• Both ship with at least 16GB RAM, configurable to 24GB; no 8GB base model
• Battery life rises to 13 and 18 hours of web browsing respectively
• Displays brightened from 400 to 500 nits; Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 supported
