Alibaba launches Qwen Image 2.1 with just 7B parameters

Alibaba Cloud released Qwen Image 2.1, an open-weight image generation model with only 7 billion parameters that runs on older consumer GPUs like the RTX 3090. It scored 60.2 on the internal Qwen Image Benchmark versus 59.82 for Google's Nano Banana 2.0, but its license forbids commercial resale without a separate agreement.
