Qualcomm CEO: smartphones enter agentic era, 'AI is the new UI'

At Snapdragon Summit 2026, Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon said the industry is entering an agentic era where AI agents, not apps, become the center of the smartphone experience. Qualcomm unveiled Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and 8 Elite Gen 6 Extreme, targeting up to 1 million tokens processed locally per day.
