Google expands Gemini Notebook with syncing, interactive tools and a new name

Google is turning Gemini Notebook, formerly NotebookLM, into a connected knowledge workspace inside the Gemini app. Notebooks with cross-app syncing arrived on April 8, 2026, the product was renamed on July 16, and on September 15 Google added real-time conversations, mobile audio recording and interactive overviews with quizzes and flashcards.
