Tapas Is Shutting Down, Leaving Comics Creators Without a Home

Tapas, the North American comics and web novel platform, is shutting down. According to BigGo Finance, the service, which hosted over 100,000 titles from 75,000 creators and had more than 10 million registered users, became a drag on earnings for Kakao Entertainment, which bought it in 2021 for roughly $800 million.
