India pushes device biometrics across UPI and card payments

Biometric authentication for UPI payments has surpassed 6.29 billion transactions as of the end of August. The RBI introduced MyUPI, built on a small language model, while Visa and In-Solutions Global bring payment passkeys to five Indian banks.
