Synthetic IDs drive half of UK insurance fraud, report finds

Synectics Solutions says synthetic identities account for about half of identity fraud in National SIRA, which now holds 350,000 synthetic ID signals, up 50% in two years. Ghost broking victims rose 93% in 2025, and two-thirds of compromised identities were reused across financial services.
