Tesla's active robotaxi fleet in Austin falls back to 8 vehicles after Cybercab event

Only 8 Tesla robotaxis carried passengers in Austin over the past seven days, according to Robotaxi Tracker — roughly the same level as at the service's June 2025 launch. A spike past 100 vehicles after the September 3 Cybercab event quickly faded, even as Tesla's Texas DMV registry lists 476 VINs.
