India dissolves 37-year-old Digital Communications Commission

India's government has dissolved the Digital Communications Commission, the apex telecom policy body in place since 1989, effective immediately. Its final meeting on 3 September approved satellite spectrum allocation for Starlink, OneWeb and Jio Satellite, a proposal now before the cabinet.
