NIST FRTE 1:1 update shows shifting leaders, persistent demographic disparities

NIST's FRTE 1:1 report released September 1, 2026, covers 21 developers, including eight newcomers. Innovatrics v17 entered the Mugshot-to-Mugshot top group, ROC and SenseTime climbed into the top five for border scenarios, and the median Bias Gini stood at 0.62.

• 21 developers submitted: 8 new and 13 returning with updates (Innovatrics v17, ROC v21, SenseTime v12)
• Visa-to-Visa unchanged: Cloudwalk Moontime v6 and Recognito v0 tied at 0.06%
• Kiosk-to-Border is led by Sparktex v0 at 0.53%, with the rest at 3.7–4%
• Median Bias Gini is 0.62; females and ages 65–99 show highest disparity in 98% of cases
