DC-area airports first to deploy FAA's AI airspace tool SMART

The Transportation Department rolled out the AI-powered SMART tool, which merges 200 flight data streams to predict traffic flows and flag conflicts before they occur. Three Washington, D.C.-area airports are the first to use it under a 12-year, $875 million FAA contract with Air Space Intelligence.
