AWS debuts Strands Harness, an open-source AI agent for any environment

Amazon Web Services launched Strands Harness, an open-source AI agent built on the Strands SDK that runs locally or in any cloud, including AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, Modal and Cloudflare. AWS says it is 26% more efficient than agents on other frameworks, and in a test with Anthropic's Fable 5 model it cost 77% less than Claude Code while scoring higher on Terminal Bench 2.1.
