Samsung and LG to remove botnet apps from smart TV stores

Samsung and LG have pledged to remove smart TV apps containing residential proxy features that turned TVs into botnet nodes for AI scraping and attacks. According to Spur, 26.5% of Tizen apps and over 42.5% of webOS apps were affected; IPIDEA is already banned by Amazon, Roku and Google TV.
