Scientists test 3D-printed coral reefs to revive marine life

Researchers from the University of Galway, Sorbonne University and Ifremer placed 23 artificial reefs at depths of 900–1100m off Ireland and in the Bay of Biscay as part of the Redecor project. The low-carbon concrete structures are designed to accelerate recovery of cold-water corals that grow only a few millimetres per year.
