Intel Arc 140V Runs DLSS 5 Neural Rendering Without CUDA, But Frame Rates Collapse To Just 3-5 FPS
A modder ran DLSS 5 Neural Rendering on integrated Intel Arc 140V graphics in a Core Ultra 7 256V processor via a Vulkan layer on Linux, without CUDA or NGX. The technology reconstructs a 71-block U-Net on XMX matrix engines, but performance drops to 3–5 FPS at 720p.
- Project dlss-nr-on-intel works on Arc 140V (Xe2) via VK_KHR_cooperative_matrix extension
- In Tekken 7 at 640x360, only 10.5 FPS is achieved
- At 720p, device buffers require about 2.3 GB of shared memory
- Implementation is unofficial: requires own DLSS files to extract model weights
