Microchip reports early radiation results for RISC-V PIC64-HPSC

Microchip published early radiation-characterization results for the PIC64-HPSC1000-RH on October 27, 2026: TID testing to 200 krad(Si) and SEL testing to 78.2 MeV·cm²/mg. The chip packs eight 64-bit SiFive X280 vector cores at up to 1 GHz, and Early Access Program customers are already evaluating silicon and development kits.

• TID characterization of PIC64-HPSC1000-RH reached 200 krad(Si)
• SEL testing passed 78.2 MeV·cm²/mg under Microchip conditions
• Eight SiFive X280 vector cores, ten cores total, up to 1 GHz
• Rated up to 2 TOPS int8 or 1 TFLOPS bfloat16 across all cores
