NVision Quantum unveils organic spin-photon interface for quantum networks
German startup NVision Quantum Technologies said Nature published its paper on the first organic molecular qubit with individual optical control and a photonic interface. The carbon-and-hydrogen molecule BiPhi stores spin in its ground state and allows optical readout. NVision also partnered with HyperLight to place the molecules on lithium niobate photonic chips.
- BiPhi is built only from carbon and hydrogen, with no rare-earth atoms
- Over 40 of 150 candidate molecules were synthesized before selecting BiPhi
- Spin states are split by 1.555 GHz against a 38 MHz spectral linewidth
- A working integrated prototype with HyperLight is targeted before year-end
