Rivian starts delivering electric vans with 30% more range and AWD

Rivian has begun deliveries of upgraded EDV vans with a larger 129 kWh LFP battery, 30% more range and a new dual-motor AWD option. The upgrade applies only to the larger EDV 700, with shipments starting in early October.

• Battery grows from 100 to 129 kWh, range reaches about 208 miles in FWD form
• AWD version is estimated at roughly 195–200 miles, giving up a third of the gain
• Only the EDV 700 gets the upgrade; the smaller EDV 500 is unchanged
• Deliveries of the new variants began in early October 2026
