Astronauts deploy iROSA solar array on 100th US spacewalk from ISS
NASA's Anil Menon and CSA's Joshua Kutryk installed and deployed the second-to-last iROSA solar array on the ISS during a 7-hour, 11-minute EVA on Oct. 29. The 340-kg array, delivered by SpaceX Dragon, unrolled to 19 meters using stored energy in its carbon-composite booms. It was the 100th US spacewalk from the station and the first by a Canadian astronaut since 2019.
- The spacewalk lasted 7 hours 11 minutes and ended Oct. 29
- The 340-kg iROSA unrolled to 19 meters without a motor
- iROSAs boost station power output by 20–30%
- The eighth and final array is set for Nov. 5
