Toyota EV sales more than doubled in a year, but China drags on global results

Toyota sold 309,766 battery electric vehicles globally through September 2026, up 127.4% year over year. Overall sales still fell for a third straight month, with September volume down 2.2% and China sales down 18.9% over the nine-month period.
