Apple VP explains 60Hz OLED and Acoustic Display on new iPad mini
Apple hardware engineering VP Dave Pakula said the new iPad mini's OLED panel stays at 60Hz because fast pixel response, contrast and brightness matter more than a single spec. He also detailed the Acoustic Display: custom drivers vibrate the screen for mid and low frequencies, while hidden tweeters port sound through gaps between glass and aluminum. Pre-orders are open, with first deliveries on November 6.
