Artemis III crew meets Trump at the White House

NASA's Artemis III astronauts visited the Oval Office on Oct. 28 and posed for photos with President Donald Trump. The crew — Randy Bresnik, Andre Douglas, Frank Rubio and ESA's Luca Parmitano — is training for a roughly two-week low Earth orbit mission in summer 2027 to dock Orion with SpaceX's Starship or Blue Origin's Blue Moon.

• The visit came nearly six months after the Artemis II crew's White House stop
• Artemis III is slated to launch in summer 2027 for a roughly two-week mission
• The crew will practice docking Orion with Starship or Blue Moon landers
• The first crewed lunar landing since 1972 is planned for Artemis IV in 2028
