Chile blocks 1,954 pirate IPTV URLs to protect user data

Chilean regulator Subtel said ISPs GTD, DirecTV, Entel, WOM, Mundo, ClaroVTR, Netline and Movistar have blocked 1,954 URLs tied to illegal IPTV services including MagisTV, FlujoTV, XuperTV, Cuevana and Fútbol Libre. The blocks are framed around protecting citizens' privacy and personal data.

• Blocks arrive in batches: 221 URLs in June, 765 in October
• The list extends beyond MagisTV, FlujoTV and XuperTV
• Chilean police arrested 16 people linked to UltraIPTV and MegaIPTV
• Several targeted sites and copycats remain online
