UK budget allocates £700M to AI and sovereign tech package

The UK has committed £700 million to an AI and sovereign technology package that fast-tracks grid connections for data centres and allows on-site power generation. It also includes £18 million for a chip design academy at Edinburgh University and £500 million for AI safety and security.
