GTA 6 police will use K9 units during pursuits

Rockstar confirmed that GTA 6 police chases will include K9 units that track down Jason and Lucia. In a gameplay sequence from Edge's November 2026 issue, an Alsatian caught Jason after a crash, and the player could either shoot the dog or let it go.

• K9 units join pursuits at high wanted levels
• Killing the dog worsens the player's Criminal Profile
• The mechanic echoes bloodhound bounty hunters in Red Dead Redemption 2
• Dogs may track characters by scent via the smell system
