Taiwan collects first carbon fees, moves to fee-ETS dual approach

Taiwan has collected its first carbon fees in 2026 from 240 companies and 461 factories, raising about NT$4.97 billion (US$153.1 million). The government is moving to a dual approach combining the fee with an emissions trading system.
