Democrats introduce $15,000 EV tax credit bill with no chance of passing
Rep. Greg Landsman introduced H.R. 10881, which would double the federal EV tax credit to $15,000 for new vehicles and $8,000 for used ones and make both permanent. The bill has zero cosponsors and faces a Republican-controlled Congress, so it is unlikely to become law.
- New EV credit doubles from $7,500 to $15,000; used credit rises from $4,000 to $8,000
- Income cap for joint filers drops from $300,000 to $225,000
- Bill was introduced October 22 and has no cosponsors
