Chemists isolate stable oxoboranes with boron-oxygen triple bonds
Holger Braunschweig's team at the University of Würzburg, with computational support from Ashwini K. Phukan's group at Tezpur University, developed a method to prepare and isolate a range of surprisingly stable oxoboranes. The boron-oxygen triple-bond compounds had eluded chemists for over 60 years; the work appears in Nature Chemistry.
