The end of Android Fire Sticks is coming, here's what to expect
Amazon confirmed that all future Fire TV Sticks will run on Linux-based Vega OS instead of Android-based Fire OS. This will remove support for sideloading Android apps and custom launchers; current 4K Plus and 4K Max models will remain on Fire OS and be supported until December 31, 2030.
