Spain tests field urea production system powered by biobatteries and solar
The CONFETI project, coordinated by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, has commissioned a pilot system that produces urea fertilizer directly in the field from CO₂ and nitrates in an electrochemical reactor. It runs on energy from biobatteries and solar panels after three years of research.
